Line-up Balkanik Festival, Third Edition - where the old masters of lute meet the new architects of sound

The third edition of Balkan music and culture festival will take place between 13 and 15 September in the Garden Uranus in Bucharest.

Here are five bands confirmed so far, which will play in the three-day festival:

Fanfare Ciocarlia, Romania

Fanfare Ciocarlia is the name of a band of 12 musicians from the village ten poles, Iasi County. Fanfare Ciocarlia is known as the fastest band in the world. They even get up to 200 bpm (beats per minute). Fanfare Ciocarlia signs Borat movie soundtrack, nominated for an Oscar in 2007 and winner of the Golden Globe and the film Gegen die Wand, directed by Fatih Akin, winner of the Golden Bear and the European Academy Award in 2004. Band was on stage at Oslo in 2012, where he was invited to the concert dedicated to Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

KOTTARASHKY & THE RAIN DOGS, Bulgaria

Kottarashky & The Rain Dogs is an ethno-electronica band minimalist in Bulgaria. Kottarashky aka Nikola Gruev, opened the doors of musical spaces undiscovered until now, with their first album, Opa Hey, in 2009. His approach of using a collection of authentic sounds from field recordings is similar to that of the artist Amon Tobin, the only difference being that Gruev has found and recorded sources in Bulgarian villages. Combining them, has initiated a digital tribal dance music, which competed or culture mash up of contemporary global producers or artistic collages of sound modern architects.

Taraf de Haidouks, Romania

Taraf de Haidouks is a band of musicians who have gained success Clejani internationally with the advent in 2000 in the film The Man Who Cried (dir. Sally Potter) who starred opposite Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci and Cate Blanchett. Along with actor Johnny Depp also appeared in the 2006 documentary film about Romani culture - When the Road Bends: Tales of a Gypsy Caravan. in 1993 also appeared in the documentary Latcho Drom, directed by Tony Gatlif, Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival in 1993. Taraf de Haidouks are considered representatives of gypsy music, notable for its characteristic vitality.

Mitsoura, Hungary

Mitsoura is a unique musical project that combines Hungarian Roma music with oriental roots, resulting in an amazing blend that they call "progressive electro world beat project". The characteristic of the band is given primarily unmistakable voice and unique talent singer, Monika (Mitsou) Miczura, considered one of the best singers in the world Roma. He collaborated with French director Tony Gatlif cinematographic productions Gadjo Dilo, Vengo, Je suis né d'une Cigogne and Swing, toured the world with Gipsy Kings or Fanfare Ciocarlia.

KAL, Serbia

Kal is a Romanian world music band from Serbia, which has attracted the interest of public holidays and everywhere the eponymous album, released in 2006, featuring a mix of Balkan music, with influences of tango, Turkish influences, Jamaican and the Middle East. Kal had over a hundred concerts worldwide, in most European countries and the USA. Were invited to festivals such as Exit, Sziget, La notte di San Lorenzo and the WOMEX World Music Expo and. in April 2006, Kal album took first place in the World Music Charts Europe and 3rd place in the annual ranking.

Besides concerts will be held a craft fair, outdoor film screenings, exhibitions of painting and photography, traditional objects, thematic workshops, dance, circus, traditional cuisine Balkans and many other updates.
